A Year in Mourning- a Solo exhibition by Remnantless

  • Sideshow Gallery 2219 North Western Avenue Chicago, IL, 60647 United States (map)

“As a child I got very ill and nearly died, it left me with an impression of death that it was always hovering close by like an unwanted friend. Over time we became closer and several times nearly met again.

This collection is a reflection of my relationship with death. My thoughts and daydreams of the inevitable end and embracing it truly in all its faucets.

As a mixed media artist it's been a freeing experience to channel these thoughts and let the mediums really speak in each piece.  Iv tapped into all the mediums I love -painting, printmaking, sculpture and paper craft to show the different faces of death.

Hidden details are my specialty. I want to invoke a sense of searching in every piece and that you can never see it all in one glance. As a mixed media artist I can't just settle on one thing and am constantly looking for the next spark of inspiration or variation of my last collection. As an ever evolving artist I am constantly shedding my skin to start anew. From dolls to printmaking and even jewelry I love to search my own dreams for the next new piece.” -Rem Wulff

Pieces are available in our shop.
