Curious Nature: A Brett Manning Solo Art Show

  • Sideshow Gallery 2219 North Western Avenue Chicago, IL, 60647 United States (map)

Join us for Brett Manning’s solo exhibition & holiday pop-up at Sideshow Gallery on December 7th, 6-10pm!

Brett Manning is an artist living and working from her rural Indiana home. She is heavily inspired by the natural surroundings, obsessive patterns and textures, traditional and forgotten folklore- especially the old tales of fairies and monsters, and embracing the darkness and the things that would horrify many. Instead, she strives to build a relationship with the shadow world, understanding that it is within the darkness where we dream and can find peace.

She primarily works in ink, but occasionally enjoys snapping photos of herself and any willing friend, creating images that she describes as 'movies that don't exist.' Her newest venture has been creating soft, loveable little faerie and goblin plushies, PluSidhe, with the goal of giving other types of faerie entities the representation they deserve...and want! @plusidhe is her instagram for the plushies.

Brett will have her magical works on display: drawings, paintings, and her new photographs. She will also have available a limited supply of her books, plushies, candles, and pins in our parlor, bringing vibes of her shop The Lantern to Sideshow Gallery for a special holiday gift shopping experience. Immerse yourself into the world of Brett Manning this winter season and indulge in her unique art.
